Our Story

My name is Aaron Melendez, and my journey began on October 20, 2001. From working alongside my father as a union and residential painter, I learned the value of craftsmanship. After eight years in painting, I launched my own business 4 years ago, focusing on quality and client satisfaction. My early experiences on construction sites taught me the importance of attention to detail and excellence. Honesty is also a core value, fostering open communication with clients. Trust, built through consistency and reliability, has been crucial for my business growth. I prioritize quality in every project, ensuring clients receive exceptional service and lasting value. I take pride in my work ethic and the referrals from satisfied clients. I also love to travel, which fuels my creativity and broadens my perspective. My personal philosophy is: “To achieve success, one must fall in love with the chaos and stress that accompany it.” Embracing both is essential for growth.

Question

How to Choose a Paint Finish: A Guide to Paint Sheens for Your Home

What Is Paint Sheen? Paint sheen refers to the level of gloss or shine in a paint finish. It impacts how light reflects off the painted surface and how durable or washable the surface will be. The glossier the finish, the more durable—and often more reflective—it will be. 🏠 Types of Paint Finishes (From Flat to Glossy) Here's a breakdown of the most common paint sheens and where they work best: 1. Flat or Matte Finish Appearance: No shine, soft look Best For: Ceilings, low-traffic walls, older walls with imperfections Pros: Hides surface flaws well Cons: Harder to clean; not ideal for high-traffic areas 2. Eggshell Finish Appearance: Soft, low-luster sheen Best For: Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms Pros: More durable than flat; slightly washable Cons: Slightly less coverage than flat 3. Satin Finish Appearance: Smooth, velvety sheen Best For: Hallways, kitchens, kids' rooms, bathrooms Pros: Easy to clean; moisture-resistant Cons: May highlight wall imperfections 4. Semi-Gloss Finish Appearance: Noticeable shine Best For: Trim, doors, kitchens, bathrooms Pros: Very durable and washable; resists moisture well Cons: Will show imperfections more clearly 5. Gloss/High-Gloss Finish Appearance: High shine, reflective surface Best For: Cabinets, doors, molding, furniture Pros: Extremely durable and easy to clean Cons: Highlights every surface flaw; harder to apply evenly.

Question

I have Wood Rot should I replace?

Yes! It's essential to remove any wood rot before investing in an exterior paint job. We highly recommend removing and replacing any wood rot on the surface of your home. Leaving moisture in the wood will continue to expand and grow due to wood having pores that trap the moisture. We want to ensure your exterior painting investment lasts long and maintains its quality. By addressing wood rot, we can help extend the longevity and durability of your home's exterior. Secondly, if you do have wood rot, you need to tackle what caused it in the first place. The most common issues are clogged gutters and downspouts causing overflow or water spilling, leading to your soffit panels and siding. We recommend getting leaf guards to avoid this from happening or replacing with new 5" or 6" gutters, which is a service we offer! Additionally, grading issues can cause skirt boards or "starter boards" to rot, along with improper caulking on nail head seams and fascia boards. However, the best way to avoid gutter clogs is by checking your gutters every other month and/or cleaning them out. By addressing these underlying issues, you can prevent future wood rot and ensure the longevity of your exterior painting investment.
